Twitter and SEO – How Twitter can help your SEO marketing Campaign

Twitter is an excellent resource for trying to help drive traffic to sell your product or services. You may have read the blog, Facebookand SEO, and that peaked your interest in this Twitter and SEO blog. Statistically Twitter currently has better results for helping to drive traffic to a website for businesses trying to sell their products or services. You can always create accounts with both Twitter and Facebook in order to try and increase your odds, but you do not necessarily need to create unique posts for each site.

There are many benefits and drawbacks to making announcements and sending promos through Twitter. Below is a list of the aspects that you will need to work around:

Benefits

·         You can do as many updates a day as you could possibly want. This means that should you choose to do a time sensitive promotion it will be easy to do on Twitter.

·         You can build a profile, upload images or videos, and post all current updates about your product.

·         You can follow people and other communities that may directly affect your product or services.

·         You have access to a wide range of people for quick and easy postings.

·         People can repost your information to their page so that all of their followers are able to see it.

·         There are several pieces of software that will allow you to manage all of your accounts such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn all at the same time.

·         Twitter allows you to work in your SEO for free on your company.

 Drawbacks

·         You are limited to the amount of characters that you can post at a single time.

·         You will have to post links to a lot of the information instead of typing several continuous posts.

·         You will have to use a type of software to convert your links so that they are not too many characters than the post limit.

Twitter can sometimes require a little bit more work if you try to post everything directly or you enjoy posting a lot of links. Fortunately, there are programs such as, Hootsuite.com that will allow you to log into your Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and your LinkedIn accounts all at the same time. Hootsuite.com offers many benefits such as allowing you to take a long link and condense it to a more manageable one that will meet the Twitter character limitations.

Twitter and Facebook are extremely similar in some ways, but Twitter stands out a great deal in other ways. People are not as excited about their personal posts on Twitter than they are on Facebook. They are more interested in getting on Twitter and getting up to do information on their favorite celebrities, hangouts, and companies. They love the fact that they are able to interact with their idols, and they feel that they are in the inner loop with their favorite companies with the announcement of new products and promotions.

Twitter and SEO
Twitter and SEO can get to be a little tricky. You have a minimal amount of characters, so you have to fit in your information in your tweets or your profile. This can be difficult to do at times should you pick a more obscure keyword. The major key is to make sure you tweet often, but do not over do it. You do not want your followers to get annoyed, or feel that the tweets from your company feel more like spam. A great rule of thumb is to try and do a single tweet everyday. Make sure to vary the information you provide in your tweets. You will want to have some that will provide information on your products or services, some that will offer promotions, and some with just interesting topics or news on your field. Twitter is a great way to get a lot of information out to a great deal of people quickly, but just make sure you go about it in the correct manner.
